In the ‘cool seat’

I was honoured to be invited to sit in the ‘cool seat’ on Jim Hawkins’ BBC Radio Shropshire show this morning to talk about my work and how I started my house history research business. Jim is a genial host, easy to talk to, and good at asking open-ended questions. We covered a lot of ground in half an hour covering such diverse topics as potatoes floating in my mother’s flooded riverside house, my arrival at Cairo airport at the beginning of a year-long working assignment, and Abraham Darby III’s cash book. We fitted in quite a lot about house history too!
