The previous owner found a key that belonged to the house but its door had gone so she cemented it into the garden path! I will leave a Ted and Tedwina created here in the hopes that the cottage stands for another 150years (at least) and they become part of its history…. Penny

Jill – your blogs are always interesting and relevant and this one has reminded me how much I take for granted. I’d like to add my thanks to all those wonderful indexers (and transcribers) who give their time and expertise to making things so much easier for the rest of us. (and I love your snippets from the old parish records – these extraordinary glimpses into the lives of real people are what fires our passion for the past. Wonderful!)
