Lime trees planted by the Reverend Holland Sandford

It was lovely to be invited to appear on Jim Hawkins’ morning show today to talk about house history. Jim had been discussing listed buildings with Deborah from Historic England and wanted to extend the topic to cover what listeners might be able to find out about their own houses, whether listed buildings or not.

From the lime trees in Sandford Avenue, Church Stretton to a 12-year court case about moving a fence three feet, we covered quite a lot of ground in ten minutes until the phone line went down!

You can listen to Jim’s programme here; my interview is at 1:45:20.
